Use E-mail Safely

Here are some tips for using e-mail safely. You should scan all e-mail attachments with your virus proctor before you open them. Attachments are a primary source for infections, be careful. Newer e-mail programs have Phishing Filers in place warning of possible threats. Take the warning serious, do not open the e-mail. Do not just click on a hyperlink in an e-mail. Many hyperlinks are used in phishing and spyware scams. Many of the news scams come from some with a common name. Just because you know someone named Bob does not mean your friend is the one who sent the e-mail. Use commonsense when reading the subject line before opening or replying.
