Cyber Crimes

On September 9th http: eweek.com posted an article about cyber gangs and Rock Phish groups. I looked over the article and decided it was not really that important. Since then a resent event has changed my mind about bring these gangs to your attention.. Today cnet news is reporting the popular BusinessWeek's site has been hacked by one of these groups. According to the report only a small section of the BusinessWeek's site was compromise. BusinessWeek at this time said, "they can not confirm nor deny any of their followers are at risk". The malware was discovered on the site and the information was tracked back to a “Russian domain”.

The people responsible for these attacks are usually looking for private information on your computer such as bank account numbers and credit card information. Once your information is stolen it is then sold on an underground network for criminals. Then your money is gone before you have even made it. Unfortunately this kind of fraud is one of the fasted growing crimes on the internet that we face today. I for one could do without having to worry and am hoping that my information is secure; because, I myself have been on the BusinessWeek's site recently.
